Middlesex climbed 17 places in the Guardian University Guide 2015, with the newspaper's annual UK league tables published each June now putting the University in 86th place.
Performance at subject level improved still further, with a large number of courses ranked above the University's overall position and a handful named among the best in the country.
The Guardian league table compiles information across a number of criteria, including students' satisfaction and the ratio of students to staff.
Other factors considered are the amount spent per student, the average entry requirements and student careers six months after graduation.
Vice-Chancellor Michael Driscoll said: "It is good to see that the hard work and ambition of everyone at Middlesex University has had a direct impact on such a prestigious league table.
"I hope this news helps inspire and grow the pride our students and alumni have in their alma mater."
