Middlesex has appointed two new Deans with exceptional academic leadership experience and outstanding research profiles.
Professor Carole-Anne Upton has recently joined from the University of Ulster as Dean of Media and Performing Arts. Dr Hilary Robinson will move from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh to lead the new School of Art and Design in January.
The appointments are part of a major investment in academic expertise and research excellence at Middlesex and follow an international search for academic talent with particularly strong research profiles.
More than 70 academics, including more than 30 professors and readers are joining Middlesex this year, across its six Schools.
Waqar Ahmad, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Enterprise, said: "I welcome both Carole-Anne and Hilary to the University as we continue to build and strengthen our reputation for excellence both in the UK and overseas.
"The appointment of new Deans and the addition of so many more experts in their fields is a significant step forward in the University's strategy and gives us the opportunity to focus on producing internationally-renowned research, forging new partnerships with business and practice worldwide while continuing to deliver outstanding teaching and student experience."
Hilary and Carole-Anne join current Deans, Anna Kyprianou (Business), Martin Loomes (Science & Technology) and Jan Williams (Health & Education), as well as Joshua Castellino, recently appointed Dean of the new School of Law.
