Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice in United States Law

Case Western Reserve UniversitySchool of Law partners with Case Western to offer Middlesex students US study opportunity

Middlesex University School of Law has entered into partnership with Case Western Reserve University School of Law (CWRU) in Cleveland to enable selected Middlesex University students who have graduated with either the LLB or BA Law degree, or who are PhD students, the opportunity to spend an academic year in the US enrolled and graduating in the LLM in United States and Global Legal Studies.

The arrangement also involves a four-week placement with a faculty member, firm, court or law-related organisation following the end of the spring semester and this placement, in addition to the LLM in US and Global Legal Studies. This insight and experience equips students to study for the modules Personal and Professional Development (60 credits), Advanced Practitioner Inquiry (30 credits) and Negotiated Work-Based Learning Project (30 credits) that make up the Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice in United States Law.

This Middlesex University Diploma is an additional qualification which Middlesex University LLB and BA graduates study for during or towards the end of their studies at CWRU. PhD students are not enrolled on it, since they spend part of their time furthering their PhD studies.
