"The best thing about this course is that young composers have the freedom to choose the style of their music and lecturers are always happy to help develop each individual's interest. There is good exposure to concert activity so composers have the opportunity to compose music for the choir or to collaborate with student performers."
"Many string and brass workshops are organised during each year allowing students to receive professional feedback and hear their compositions played by one of the best musicians in the UK. Also, the Director of the music department, Dr. Peter Fribbins, organises many classical concerts and gives opportunities for student composers and performers to be part of the musical scene outside university. Visiting composers and musicians are also invited to give lectures and critically assess and provide feedback on our work."
