Research Outputs & Interests
Economist with long-term experience in applied quantitative work, international and development finance, banking regulation and macroeconomic policy analysis. Recent research has focused on capital flows to emerging economies, macroeconomic policy management in developing countries, capital account liberalisation and impacts of Basel Capital Accords on development finance.
Has worked as consultant to the UK Department for International Development, European Commission, G-24, UNCTAD, UNDP, UNRISD and the governments of various sub-Saharan countries.
Has edited the book The Basel Capital Accords in Developing Countries: Challenges for Development Finance (2010) and co-edited the books Inequality in Latin America: Issues and Challenges for the 21st Century (2006) and International Capital Flows in Calm and Turbulent Times: The Need for New International Architecture (2003).
