Dr. Nicola Montagna joined the Department of Criminology and Sociology and the Crime and Conflict Research Centre at Middlesex University in September 2008. He holds a PhD in Sociology at Middlesex University and a MSc in Sociology from London School of Economics, as well as a BA in Philosophy from Milan University, Italy. He is a member of the British Sociological Association.
His current research focuses on global social movements and collective violence, occupied social centres and youth movements, urban movements, international migration, migrant protests, Italian politics, political and sociological thought. He has widely published in peer reviewed journals and edited books in several languages.
