Dr Paula Nottingham is an experienced academic specialising in higher education, work-based and work-integrated learning, and practice-based research that supports organisational innovation and impact. Paula is a dual UK and US citizen. Her qualifications include: BFA (Hons equivalent), MFA (3 year with teaching component), MSc (Applied Profession Studies in Lifelong Learning), PhD (Lifelong Learning), PGCertHE, Senior Fellowship HEA.

Paula is currently the Co-Lead Reseach Degrees Coordinator for the PhD in Work Based Learning and the Health, Social Care and Education Faculty M/DProf (professional doctorate). She is a Supervisor and Director of Studies for the Doctor of Professional Studies (Transdisciplinary). Paula is the Programme Leader for the MA in Higher Education and was formally the Programme Leader for BSc (Hons) Professional Practice in Business to Business Sales Degree Apprenticeship (with Consalia Ltd. partnership) within the Marketing Branding and Tourism Department; and Programme Leader for the BA Professional Practice in Arts.
Paula is the currently the External Examiner for the University of Wales Trinity St David and formerly external examner for: University of Ulster, Leeds Trinity, Birkbeck University of London, Pearsons, Leicester College (De Montfort).
Paula has research interests in higher education pedagogy, degree apprenticeships, doctoral studies, professional doctorates, creative and innovative higher education, lifelong learning, the use of digital technology for learning, facilitation, and practitioner learning.
