Dr. Rachel Herring is a Senior Research Fellow with a particular interest in social and policy aspects of alcohol use. Prior to joining Middlesex University she has worked as a researcher at a a number of insitutions including the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Imperial College (at the Centre for Research on Drugs and Health Behaviour).
Dr Herring was involved in the development of the European Masters in Drug and Alcohol Studies, which funded by an Erasmus Lifelong Learning Curriculum Development Grant Oct 2007-Sept 2010 and led by Prof. Betsy Thom. Dr Herring supervises MSc and PhD students.
Dr Herring is a social scientist with a particular interest in the social and policy aspects of alcohol use, including alcohol consumption across the life course, licensing and the implementation of alcohol policy at the local level.
