Herbert is a Mental Health Lecturer in the Department of Mental Health, Social Work and Integrative Medicine. Herbert has special interest in psychopharmacology and physical health care needs of mental health service users. Within the Department of Mental health, Herbert is a module lead and teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Prior to entering academia, Herbert worked in General Practice where he led on the PMS + mental health project commissioned by NHS England in the London Borough of City and Hackney. The main objective of the project was to improve screening and monitoring strategies for physical and mental health care needs of mental health service users in primary care. Herbert is also a specialist clinical advisor to the CQC, a role in which he supports the CQC with community and hospital inspections for mental health and social care providers.
