Dr Ward joined Middlesex University in September 2013. Prior to this she was at the University of York (2012-2013), and completed her PhD on the distinction between explicit and implicit memory at University College London.

Human memory, particularly the distinction between explicit (conscious, declarative) and implicit (unsoncsious, nondeclarative) memory. Factors influencing memory encoding / retrieval (e.g., attention, context).
Research Outputs & Interests
Dr Ward's research interests surround human memory, particularly the distinction between explicit (e.g., recognition) and implicit (e.g., repetition-priming) memory. Her doctoral thesis focussed on changes in explicit and implicit memory as a function of normal ageing, but she is broadly and generally interested in the relationship between these memory phenomena, as well as specific memory processes and factors that influence them.
