School of Engineering and Information Sciences
Welcome from the Dean of School
The School of Engineering and Information Sciences (EIS) is guided by the notion that people have an essential part to play in modern engineering and technology.
Within our School we are attempting to integrate the study of people, both as individuals and societies, with that of artifacts and the sciences that are involved.
Design thinking is critical to our approach, as we focus attention on systems that will interact with people in a variety of ways. Many of these systems will exist in settings we can scarcely imagine.
Our computing courses are based at our Hendon campus in north-west London, taught in a state-of-the-art building with specialist laboratories providing our students with a customised teaching and research environment. Product design and design engineering is taught at Trent Park campus, where our students have access to a dedicated product design and engineering centre.
We are fortunate that our school brings together individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, working together to ensure that broad perspectives of systems are used, to challenge thinking and formulate approaches to engineering, design and analysis that are fit for purpose in our modern world.
