Introduction to Initial and Acute Nursing Practice at Middlesex
The Department of Initial and Acute Nursing Practice delivers teaching, research and consultancy across acute and critical care nursing areas. We offer a range of high quality educational opportunities for those wishing to qualify as adult nurses, and can help qualified nurses to further develop their clinical expertise in adult nursing. We have specialist teachers and lecturer-practitioners running modules and undergraduate and postgraduate courses   in adult, acute, perioperative, critical and emergency care  subject areas. We put a big emphasis on developing students’ clinical practice skills.

Middlesex has been teaching nurses since 1991. Our students receive the highest quality teaching, according to feedback from NHS Trusts and The Quality Assurance Agency gave us the highest commendation at their disposal. 

Our nursing and midwifery programmes consist  of Undergraduate, postgraduate,  and CPD.

Pre-registration nursing students at Middlesex receive excellent support throughout their courses;

  • A bursary over your three years of study (the amount you receive is subject to status)

  • A personal tutor for your course, a mentor in your placement and back up arrangements.
