Recognising learning at higher education level
Accreditation
Middlesex University is formally committed to recognising learning wherever and however it has occurred, provided it can be identified and assessed at higher education level. This process of identification and assessment is known as accreditation.
The accreditation work of the University is managed by the Middlesex University Accreditation Services, in conjunction with the Institute for Work Based Learning. Since 1993 Middlesex University has developed an international reputation in the field of accreditation, working with individuals and organisations across government, public, private and voluntary sectors. We have advised universities in the United Kingdom and overseas on accreditation practice and procedures.
Benefits to your organisation
Middlesex University accreditation offers:
- constructive feedback on the learning activity seeking accreditation
- quality assured relationship with the University
- opportunity of progression to University qualifications
- University recognition of achievement for individual or groups of learners.
Accreditation of your in-house training may enhance your application for quality standards such as IIP, and can offer progression opportunities to higher level qualifications, often through work. Being accredited will give you confidence that you offer the same standard of training across your entire organisation.
We specialise in the accreditation of:
- in-house learning and development programmes
- competency frameworks
- leadership development programmes
- short courses, clusters of courses or modules
- professional learning.
Our expertise of working in partnership with organisations is diverse and extensive and includes specific expertise in the accreditation of programmes in healthcare and coaching. Independent research by some of our partners confirms that accreditation is a dynamic tool for whole organisational development as well as for individuals and teams. Once your course or programme is accredited we will then work closely with you, if you wish, so it can become part of a Work Based Learning qualification that we can jointly design and even deliver together.
