The Institute for Work Based Learning is internationally recognised for innovation and expertise in professional and work-based learning. The Institute offers organisations and individuals the opportunity to gain formal recognition and academic credit for learning that occurs in the workplace. Organisational development

We work in partnership with organisations across a wide range of sectors to create workforce development programmes designed to achieve identified organisational objectives and deliver return on investment. We can also identify and formally accredit in-company training, as an integrated element in workforce development programmes so that it can contribute to the achievement of higher education qualifications and degrees. Recent UK and international organisational development clients include: Halifax Bank, ASDA, The Rank Group, Toshiba Tec, and Gampaha Development Company.

Professional development programmes

Our professional development portfolio of programmes provides a way for individual learners and cohorts to achieve a degree or other higher education qualification and develop their expertise while working. Typically individuals will be able to gain academic credit for previous on-the-job experience, which will count towards the achievement of a higher education qualification. This can significantly reduce fees and the time it takes to complete your programme of study. These professional and work-based programmes will provide the opportunity for you to demonstrate higher-level learning through projects and other activities that you engage with as part of your day-to-day work. We offer programmes from undergraduate through to masters level, suitable for both full-time and part-time students, in employment, self-employment or volunteering.
