Our Work Based Learning courses

Tailored to meet your needs

Our programmes in Work Based Learning and Professional Studies are at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level. They provide a generic framework that enables you to fully realise the specific content of your own work and/or other life experience, in programmes that are at a level that best suits you.

All programmes offer the opportunity to customise your own programme of study, placing you firmly in charge of your own learning experience. You can tailor the content of your programme to your own work and career needs, in partnership with the University and your employer (where applicable).

Most of our candidates are mature workers and study on a part-time basis; they undertake Work Based Learning and Professional Studies programmes for their continuing professional development, while in paid employment. Often groups of candidates are sponsored by their employer, while others undertake programmes independently.

Uniquely, we assess prior learning in the workplace for academic credit. This may form part of a programme, reducing the length of time and number of modules needed to achieve a target qualification.
