Law debate series, 'Born under one law': I shall prove it- as clear as a whistle

Date: Wednesday 18 April

This event is part of the debate series hosted by the Law department.

This event will discuss: When does public interest become paramount; and when does it become necessary to publically report misconduct within a company or a government department? Is it right to reveal the secrets of the state in the interest of the public? Can we make it easy for employees to report actions that are illegal, environmentally destructive, unhealthy, dangerous or violate public policies? How can we protect whistleblowers from reprisals and retaliation? Can the law help? And just what rights to whistle blowers have anyway?

Speakers include: David Lewis and Wendy Addison in conversation with Ziauddin Sardar, introduced by Maureen Spencer.

Time: 4-6pm

Location: Hendon Town Hall Chamber

Further information: This event is open to anyone who wishes to attend,  but please confirm your place by emailing Christiana Frandzis: c.frandzis@mdx.ac.uk
