Spy drone generates worldwide interest

A surveillance drone which can help soldiers seek out dangers in the battlefield has been created by Middlesex student and staff engineers working with a commercial partner which makes survival and protective equipment.

The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is causing a storm in the gadget world, and has featured on both BBC worldwide and Channel 5 TV. Read the full article.

Student photographer wows international judges

A Middlesex University student has been selected by the National Portrait Gallery as part of a prestigious worldwide photography competition.  Bernat Millet’s shortlisted photograph can be seen in the accompanying exhibition in London until February 12. He is the sixth Middlesex student in three years to be included. Read the full article.

Graduate's scooter project goes global

A Middlesex graduate has seen his final year project hit the market and go global. Jason Iftakhar, founder of Swifty Scooters, has unveiled a British made folding kick scooter for adults similar to one he dreamed up on his final-year project in 2003. Read the full article.

University backed to lead major construction apprenticeships project

Middlesex University has been awarded almost £1.5m from the UK Government's Higher Apprenticeships Fund, to develop Higher Level Apprenticeships in the construction industry.  Middlesex is one of only two higher education institutions to receive funding. Read the full article.
