Assessments for the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA)
The North London Regional Access Centre, based at Middlesex University, provides assistive technology and study strategies assessments for students wishing to obtain funding support through the Disabled Students’ Allowance.
The Access Centre is accredited by the Disabled Students’ Allowance Quality Assurance Group (DSA-QAG) which provides a quality assurance service for assessment centres and suppliers involved in the delivery of the Disabled Students' Allowance scheme in England and Wales.
Students in higher education in the UK are referred by their funding authority to a DSA-QAG accredited assessment centre for a Disabled Students’ Allowance funded Study Aids and Strategies Assessment, sometimes referred to as a 'needs assessment'

What is the Disabled Students Allowance?
The Disabled Students’ Allowance is a grant, administered through your funding authority (such as Student Finance England or local authority), which helps to fund the extra costs a student with a disability may have in attending their course.
If you are a student with a disability (including specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia and dyspraxia,) on a full-time or part-time (at least 50% of a full-time course) higher education course, you can apply for the Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA). An allowance is also available for certain postgraduate students.
