IELTS test dates and how to apply
Welcome to Middlesex University Test Centre. We are one of the largest IELTS test centres in the UK, with tests up to three times a month and regular IELTS preparation courses every month.
We are open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 4.15pm. The test centre is located at our Hendon campus in north London. The test centre office is on the lower ground floor of the Sheppard Library.

Test fee
The test fee is £125.
Test dates
All test days are Saturdays. The test takes all day, and includes the listening, reading and writing tests in the morning, and the speaking test in the afternoon. There are approximately 200 seats available for each test date.
The next available test date is June 16 for the Academic version, July 7 for the General Training version.

Note: The IELTS test has two versions, the Academic version and the General Training version. If you are taking the test as an entrance requirement for a university/college course, or you are a doctor or a nurse, you will normally need to take the Academic version. In the UK the General Training (GT) version of the test is normally only for people who wish to emigrate to Australia or Canada, or for visa extension.
HOW TO APPLY FOR THE TEST
- By email: The quickest way to apply is by email. Complete the application form, attach a photo, then scan pages 1,2,(3),4 and send them as an email attachment. You must also send a scan of your passport and the completed credit/debit card payment form
- In person: You can come to the office during opening hours (Monday – Friday, 9.00am to 4.00pm). You can bring a completed application form with you, or you can complete the application form here. You will need to bring your passport and two photos. You can pay by cash or by credit/debit card.
- By post: You will need to send your completed application form (pages 1,2,(3),4), two photos, a copy of your passport and payment. You can pay by cheque or Postal Order (made payable to Middlesex University) or by completing the credit/debit card payment form. All postal applications must be sent by registered post.
Note: It is not possible to apply online for the IELTS test at the moment (but you can apply by email – see above).
Applications are treated on a first come, first served basis, so it is a good idea to put a second choice date as well as your first choice.
When we have processed your application we will send you a confirmation letter by email.
