Biography
Biography
Leandro has over fifteen years experience on policy-oriented research specialising in enterprise, small businesses and economic development. His current research interests include social enterprise, third sector and public sector innovation, cultural diversity, enterprise and economic development, and SMEs and enterprise clusters in both developed and developing countries. His work in the UK has been commissioned by public agencies including H.M. Treasury, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), Office for the Civil Society (former OTS), Business Links, and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the European Social Fund EQUAL Programme.Leandro is currently a research fellow in the Third Sector Research Centre (TSRC), a new Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded research programme that aims to create an improved understanding of the key patterns, processes and impacts of developments in the third sector and social enterprises. Heworked in Latin America as an external consultant for the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and conducted several studies on SMEs, industrial clusters and local and regional economic development. Leandro has authored a number of reports, book chapters and journal articles, including in Entrepreneurship & Regional Development, Environment and Planning A, Local Economy, Policy & Politics, Regional Studies, and Social Enterprise Journal.
