Dr Pingli Li is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Middlesex University Business School. She worked as an associate professor in Beijing Technology and Business University before moved to London in 2001. She has taken the roles of programme and module leader, and taught the modules of Corporate Finance and Management Accounting at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Pingli’s research interests are in performance management, management control systems, and corporate governance. In addition to the publications in a number of Chinese accounting journals, she has published papers in British Journal of Management and Management Accounting Research (UK). She has successfully completed a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)-funded project on the control of international joint ventures acting as a principle researcher. The research project she is currently working on is Economic Value Added (EVA) implementation in Chinese State-owned Enterprises.

She has been ona 2-year part-time career break, and will resume her full-time employment in July 2013.
