Sepideh Parsa

Sepideh has recently been put in charge of our PhD students in the Department and is also the Programme Leader for MSc Financial Management. Her research interests are in the field of Social Accounting and Sustainability Human Resource Management. She is currently working on two research projects. Her first research project is funded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales for a grant of £9,865 and is in collaboration with scholars in China. The project concentrates on examining the motives for the growing social reporting practices among leading Chinese companies. Her second research projects is in collaboration with the Institute of Personnel Management based in Vienna University of Economics and Business and is funded by the British Academy for a grant of £7,445. This project examines the claimed adherence of multinational corporations to employment- and human right-related indicators of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). This project adopts a multidisciplinary approach where the two disciplines of employment relations and social accounting are used to analyse company’s reporting practices.

ADMINISTRATION

DOCTORAL STUDENTS IN ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE Sepideh has been recently put in charge of our doctoral students in the Accounting and Finance Department. While we have a well-developed Doctoral programme at the Business School, Sepideh aims to ensure that our doctoral students will be in an integral part of our research community in the Department where they regularly attend and participate in our internal research seminars and can therefore benefit from a more conducive research environment so that they can enhance their learning experience. Sepideh is also in charge of the recruitment of doctoral students, allocation of supervisory team and monitoring students’ progress.

PROGRAMME LEADER FOR MSC FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Sepideh has been leading MSc Financial Management for a number of years and has seen the programme going from strength to strength. The programme now runs in two cohorts in London and another cohort in Hong Kong. The Programme is regarded as one of our most successful postgraduate programmes at the Business School.
