Biography

Barbara has significant expertise in the field of work based learning in higher education, working as a senior tutor at the Institute for Work Based Learning at Middlesex University, London, and as an educational consultant advising European universities and other educational institutions on the implementation of work based learning approaches and systems. She regularly conducts seminars and workshops and receives invitations to speak at conferences across Europe. She has published internationally, and has initiated and guided a pan-European partnership. In conjunction with her academic role, Barbara has also worked for many years in the field of organisational and management development, recently writing and delivering university-accredited management competency programmes with specific focus on behavioural change. Barbara holds a Master’s degree in Sociology, and a Doctorate in Professional Studies on the relationship of complex knowledge and professional competence generated and validated both in the work place and in the university.
