Biography

Tabitha Lewis is a Senior Lecturer in substance misuse and mental health and the Programme Lead for the Adv Dip, PG Cert and MSc in Dual Diagnosis and in particular has sole responsibility for the development and delivery of the dual diagnosis distance learning programmes. Prior to this she held the post of Programme Lead in Dual Diagnosis at the Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health. She is a mental health nurse with experience of working in both substance misuse and mental health. Her clinical posts have included working in a development role as a dual diagnosis specialist in a community mental health team and she continues to work clinically on a sessional basis. In addition to these roles, Tabitha has experience of providing consultancy services and has developed and delivered bespoke practice development and training packages for health and social care agencies. She is also a regular member of numerous steering groups locally and nationally including being a member of the editorial board for a key UK based dual diagnosis journal and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). Tabitha is currently studying for her Doctorate in the use of e-learning in mental health education.
