ECOVATE – ECO-INNOVATION FOR YOUR BUSINESSEuropean dev fund logo

The EcoVate project provides free tailor-made environmental support to eligible Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in London on environmental issues including waste, water, energy, transport, and supply chain linkages. Participating businesses will also be able to use our ‘Green Business’ logo to demonstrate their efforts to improve environmental performance. 

The project is part financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Eligible SMEs are able to benefit from between two and five days of free environmental business advice to reduce costs, increase efficiency and improve performance.

 

All businesses supported through EcoVate receive tailor-made advice, so recommendations are always relevant, realistic, and can facilitate sustainable business improvements.

Past projects

Advance

A free support service for small and medium sized businesses in the Objective 2 areas of London linking innovation and the environment. he project provided environmental support to more than 300 businesses over its lifetime; it developed at least 50 environmental policies for those businesses; supported at least 50 waste minimisation/recycling schemes; 35 energy minimisation initiatives and diverted at least 10 tonnes of waste from landfill.

Waste and Recycling 

Giving businesses the skills to make a differencemanagers and staff so that those businesses benefited from reducing material and energy waste, increasing recycling activity and reducing consumption. The multi-media training programme involved environmental specialist delivery partners from three areas of London together with sector partners in Care, Construction and Retail (food). The training led to an environmental qualification and work based learning qualification for beneficiaries.

This project was co-financed by the European Social Fund and the London Development Agency.

Business Environmental Efficiency - Green Mark Project 

Managed by the London Environment Centre (LEC) - part of London Metropolitan University - and delivered by a partnership of organisations including CESMB, this project offered businesses up to five days of free environmental support, including the opportunity to work towards a Green Mark Award for environmental good practice and to sign up to the Mayor’s Green Procurement Code.

Specialist Business Growth Gateway Project

Specialist environmental support for start-up and businesses under 18 months old in the London Boroughs of Waltham Forest, Haringey and Enfield.
