Continuing professional development and work based learning

As well as our more traditional undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees, we offer two ways to help you develop your skills and career.

Continuing professional development (CPD)

In many fields, especially IT, education and health it is essential to keep abreast of developments and gain qualifications to continue to develop your career.  We offer courses in these areas and others to allow you to take time out of work to ensure your skills are up to date or and your career is developing.  As a university offering CPD courses we focus our academic expertise on study that helps you in the real world.  You bring your wealth of experience in the workplace to your studies to gain far more than through more traditional learning.

Work-based learning

We also provide university-level learning in the workplace, allowing you or your employees to progress to qualifications while continuing to work.  Uniquely we assess prior learning in the workplace for academic credit, so you will be rewarded for what you already know before going on to gain further skills.  Our work-based learning is flexible and delivered through work, in work, for work.
