This three-day course is designed for anyone wanting to edit video to a professional level using Final Cut Pro X. Through interactive instruction and working with dramatic real-world media, participants learn the practical techniques used daily when editing projects.

What will you study on the Apple: Final Cut Pro X - An Introduction?

This course will cover the following areas:

  • Creating smart collections to organise media based on metadata and keywords
  • Using the magnetic timeline to edit
  • Combining multiple elements into a single compound clip
  • Fine-tuning clips in the timeline with the precision editor
  • Comparing alternate shots from a collection using auditions
  • Applying effects, transitions and re-timing clips
  • Finishing and final output.

By the end of this course, you will have familiarity with the Final Cut Pro X interface and knowledge of how to perform basic editing functions.

To enrol on this course, you must have knowledge of OS X and basic computer navigation. Basic knowledge of editing terminology is highly recommended.
