This two-day, hands-on course is designed to empower current and aspiring news professionals with the real-world skills required to use iNEWS efficiently.

What will you study on Avid: iNEWS Certified User – An Introduction?

This short course will cover the following areas:

  • Logging in and navigating iNEWS
  • Browsing the system for assignments, new wires, e-mail and messaging specific to iNEWS
  • Creating, composing and editing stories
  • Using macros
  • Writing scripts manually and with macros
  • Using scripting functionality to set up the workspace
  • Embedding machine control commands within stories
  • Using production functionality to understand lineup devices, use forms, versioning and time, and control graphics.

There are no entry requirements for this short course - it is open for all to apply.
