    Dean's Academic Excellence Scholarship

    International Merit Award

    All international students are eligible to apply. Awards will be given on a case-by-case basis which will be dependent on your course and application.

    Alumni Bursary

    20% of the tuition fee

    Postgraduate student in any subject

    Available to all applicants who have completed a first degree with Middlesex University and have an offer for a taught masters course. The bursary applies to self-financing students and students who are not eligible for funding from Student Finance England.

    Dean's Academic Excellence Scholarships – worth 50% of the masters fee

    For those starting a course in January 2015 we are offering ten scholarships worth 50% of the Masters fee for the most talented students.

    The scholarship is open to all UK/EU applicants, in addition to international applicants who are either current Middlesex undergraduate students (at all Middlesex campuses) or else have graduated from Middlesex University previously. We are looking for students who can demonstrate excellence academically and/or professionally and the potential to succeed. We will be assessing applications according to the following criteria:

    • Prior academic achievement
    • Professional experience
    • Commendations, prizes and awards you have received
    • Your vision for your future, and how the course will help you achieve this
    • Other information (e.g. extra-curricular activity, leadership experience, volunteering, mentoring)

    The scholarship will be awarded as a 50% reduction of the postgraduate tuition fee and applied on enrolment.

    All applicants must have achieved or be expected to achieve a 2.1 or 1st class honours in their first degree. You are required to have applied to Middlesex University for an eligible postgraduate programme of study at our London campus before your application can be assessed.

    NB: The January 2015 deadline for the Dean's Academic Excellence Scholarships is midnight on Monday 1st December. 

    International Merit Award

    Open to all international students - worth up to £2000

    Middlesex University is renowned for offering unrivalled support to International students and gives out scholarships and merit awards to International students totalling around £1,000,000 each year.

    Potential postgraduate international students are eligible to apply for an International Merit Award of up to £2000 towards their fees. There is no separate application for this award; international students should apply for their chosen course through the normal application process. Awards will be given on a case-by-case basis which will be dependent on your course and application. Successful candidates will be notified at the point of offer for a programme of study and the award amount will be deducted from their tuition fees.

    NB: Research students are not eligible for the International Merit Award.

    Alumni Bursary 

    Up to 20% reduction in postgraduate course fees for Middlesex graduates

    This year we are offering a reduction of up to 20% in postgraduate tuition fees for Middlesex Alumni. There is no application process for your alumni bursary. Please apply for your programme as normal and highlight that you are an alumni during the admissions process to ensure the bursary is applied.

    The Alumni Bursary of 20% is available to UK/EU students who completed their first degree at Middlesex and have an offer for a further taught Masters programme here. The bursary applies to self-financing students and students not eligible for funding from Student Finance England.

    International (i.e. outside of the EU) alumni, not already receiving an International Merit Award or regional award, may be eligible to receive a 10% reduction in tuition fees when progressing to postgraduate study at Middlesex. Find out more from your nearest regional office.

    NB: Students already holding another Middlesex Scholarship (e.g. Academic Excellence Scholarship) are not entitled to the Alumni bursary.

    The Textile Alliance Scholarship for Masters in Design

    Tuition fees and living expenses

    First year MA Design student normally residing in Hong Kong

    Available to a permanent resident of Hong Kong who has been accepted to study Masters in Design.

    Sports Scholarship 

    £2,000 towards tuition fees

    Any undergraduate or postgraduate who participates in sport at Middlesex University

    Athletes who are able to demonstrate significant achievement in a chosen sport.

    The New London Graduate School Studentship

    Balance of fees and stipend

    Current media or design postgraduate student

    Must be currently enrolled on one of the courses listed and demonstrate academic excellence.

    Santander: Academic Excellence Scholarship

    11 x £5,000 towards tuition fees

    Any undergraduate or postgraduate

    South American students with excellent academic potential.

    Santander: Work Based Learning Scholarship

    £5,000 towards tuition fees

    Work Based Learning student

    Student who has demonstrated academic excellence.

    Santander: Formula Scholarships 

     £4,200 towards tuition fees

    Santander: Mobility Scholarships

    Ten students are given the opportunity to study abroad.

    Ellis Snitcher Memorial Prize £100   Any undergraduate or postgraduate student  Selected programmes within the School of Health and Education 

    Please note: recipients of all of the awards below must attend the Scholarships & Awards ceremony in November 2014. Students are only entitled to one scholarship, award or bursary during each academic year at Middlesex University and we reserve the right to withdraw funding if any scholarship, award or bursary is given in conjunction with another. This includes but is not limited to regional awards and the National Scholarship Programme. 

    The David Caminer Postgraduate Scholarship in Business Computing (supported by the Leo Foundation and AIT Trust)

    This generous £5,000 postgraduate scholarship is available to one UK postgraduate student each year. The scholarships will be available to students who have demonstrated excellent academic potential. Applications are welcome from students who have fulfilled the admission criteria and been offered a place to study for a postgraduate degree based in the School of Science & Technology. A student will only be entitled to one award during his/her period of study with Middlesex University.

    Postgraduate Photography Award

    This £5000 award is available to a photography student who has achieved a 2:1 or above at undergraduate level and wishes to study on the MA Photography programme at Middlesex University.  Applications are welcome from students who have been offered (conditional or unconditional) and accepted a place on the MA Photography programme.  You will need your tutor, teacher or mentor to nominate you for this award to ensure you are on track. 

    Photography Progression Award

    This award is available to two Middlesex undergraduate photography students who have achieved a 2:1 or above and wish to progress onto the MA Photography programme at Middlesex University. The award will be made annually to two students, up to the value of £2000 each. You will need your tutor, teacher or mentor to nominate you for this award to ensure you are on track.

    MSc Health Psychology Scholarships

    A £3,000 scholarship, funded by friends and alumni of Middlesex, is available to students applying for entry to MSc Health Psychology as a full-time student for September 2014. The scholarship will be awarded to an applicant who demonstrates exemplary academic and/or professional achievement or potential. Applications are welcome from students who have been offered (conditional or unconditional) and accepted a place on the MSc Health Psychology programme.  Students who receive a scholarship from another organisation cannot apply.

    Application Form

    The Textile Alliance Scholarship for Masters in Design

    This gold standard scholarship allows a high-achieving student who is a permanent resident in Hong Kong the opportunity to study full time for a one-year masters programme in a design discipline at Middlesex University in London. The student will be assessed on their design skills and ability by our academic staff in London and our Regional Director in Hong Kong. The scholarship will fund tuition fees and living expenses in London for the duration of the programme.

    Sports Scholarship

    The award will be made annually to three students up to the value of £2000 each.  We welcome applications from athletes who are able to demonstrate a significant achievement in their chosen sport, and who can also provide a strong case for the benefit that the scholarship will make in enabling them to pursue their sporting ambitions. Download the application form below; this will need to be submitted alongside two written references relevant to your application (eg from tutors or coaches) and copies of any relevant certificates.

    The New London Graduate School Studentship

    For 2013-14, students on programmes in art, design and media have been able to apply for fees and maintenance grants from the New London Graduate School, of which Middlesex is a member.

    Normally available from October, one studentship is being advertised for students already enrolled, to pay the balance of their fees and a stipend, where eligible, from January to September 2014.

    • MSc Media Management
    • MA Fine Art
    • MA Photography
    • MA Film

    Santander Academic Excellence Scholarship

    Available to students residing in South America who have received an unconditional offer to study at Middlesex University in London, this scholarship will be awarded as a £5000 reduction from tuition fees applied upon enrolment.  The award is available only for the first year of undergraduate or postgraduate study.  Postgraduate applicants must have completed their degree at an accredited institution. Eleven scholarships will be awarded each year from 2013-15. 

    Email the Americas and Caribbean regional office; info@mdxna.com to apply and for more information. There is no deadline, however awards will be allocated based on application date so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.  

    Santander Work Based Learning Scholarship 

    This award, in the form of a £5000 reduction in tuition fees, is available to Work Based Learning students who have demonstrated academic excellence. You must have applied, or be currently enrolled on an undergraduate or postgraduate/doctoral programme within the Institute for Work Based Learning. Please submit a completed application form to scholarships@mdx.ac.uk including your academic or employer references and a 500 word personal statement outlining why you merit this award, by Monday 14th July 2014. 

    Santander Formula Scholarships 

    One award of £4200 towards the students' fees. Awarded to South American students demonstrating excellent academic potential.

    Santander Mobility Scholarships 

    Ten awards of £1000 each are available for exchange students resident within the UK and countries listed in the Santander Universidades scheme*.  Award to be used to support study or research both within the UK and overseas.  For further information, please contact Dr Nosheen Rachel-Naseem, Student Exchange Manager on +44 208 411 5962 or via email to N.Rachel-Naseem@mdx.ac.uk

    Dr Ellis Snitcher Memorial Prize

    Dr Ellis Snitcher was a longstanding member of staff at Middlesex University, most recently based in the Human and Healthcare Sciences Group, but active in a wide variety of teaching and other contexts. Many will have known Ellis as a greatly valued teacher, colleague, and friend. Sadly, Ellis died in February 2006 and friends and colleagues wanted to honour his memory by funding a student prize in medicine, a topic close to his heart. You must be enrolled on either BSc Herbal Medicine, BSc Acupuncture, BSc Traditional Chinese Medicine or MCM Ayurvedic Medicine and you will need your tutor, teacher or mentor to nominate you for this award.
