    Information for new students

Advice for new students enrolling at Middlesex University in September 2016

Welcome Week is an exciting time for our new incoming students. It features events, workshops and activities designed as an induction to the campus, course and fellow peers. During Welcome Week, important materials are provided such as the Student University Guide, International Welfare Guide and Programme Handbook - which contains programme information, reading lists, assessment criteria and coursework.

Students on different courses will start at different times. Broadly speaking, Welcome periods are:

    • Nursing and midwifery courses: week starting 12 September (please be available for the whole week)
    • PGCE courses: week starting 19 September
    • Foundation courses: week starting 19 September
    • Social work courses: week starting 19 September
    • All other courses: week starting 26 September

Students will receive their specific programme information via the MyLearning section of MyUniHub. Login details and instructions are provided to students via email. There’s further support from our award winning service, UniHelp for those experiencing any problems.

International students also have access to a free Orientation Programme. This includes a free pick-up service from Heathrow Airport to campus, information workshops, social events and much more.

    Enrolment and timetable

Enrolment opens from 1 September 2016. All students are encouraged to complete this online before arriving for their induction. Timetables will only be available once enrolment has been completed.

The University's Academic Calendar provides the key dates of the current academic year, such as term start and end dates, holidays, exam weeks and result publication dates.

    More information and questions

More information on all aspects of Welcome, including the social events taking place, can be found on the 'Getting Started' pages of the dedicated student website, UniHub.

There’s also an official Facebook Freshers’ Group where students can start making friends before they arrive.
