    Part time study

Looking for a more affordable way to gain a degree? You can take almost all our undergraduate courses on a part-time basis. This means studying at your own pace alongside work and other commitments. Around 36% of our students choose this option.

    How long will it take?

We offer flexibility to our part-time students – you can choose to study a minimum of 30 credits per year or a maximum of 90 credits per year. You need 360 credits in total to complete an undergraduate course.

On average, a full-time student takes 120 credits per year and completes their undergraduate degree in three years. So if you're studying at half the intensity of a full-time degree – 60 credits per year – you'll complete your undergraduate degree in six years.

You can see exactly which modules are studied at each level and how many credits they're worth on the individual course pages.

    Study your job

We also offer work-based courses specially designed for professionals looking to progress their careers. You'll have the opportunity to claim academic credits for your previous professional experience, and you can integrate your studies into your work. Explore these courses.

    Fees and funding

For September 2014, the UK/EU tuition fee for all undergraduate courses at Middlesex University is £75 per credit (some subjects may vary). An undergraduate degree is 360 credits in total.

If you're on a part-time course that counts for at least 25 per cent of an equivalent full-time course per year, you're eligible to apply for Tuition Fee Loans. New part-time students can borrow up to £6,750 to pay tuition fees.

We offer awards on a pro-rata basis for part-time students as part of our National Scholarship Programme (NSP). You can find more information on our NSP information page.

Part-time students may also be able to access a Professional and Career Development Loan. This is a bank loan that can be used to help pay for work-related learning.
