Middlesex University has played host to Kenyan students for many years. Generations of Kenyans have studied at Middlesex and now occupy positions of responsibility in Government, Commerce and Industry at home and abroad. We have  Regional Office in Kenya who can offer you a personalised service, answering your questions about studying at Middlesex and assisting you through the application process.

We accept a significant number of Kenyan students to Middlesex each year, our most popular programmes with Kenyan students are Business and Law programmes followed closely by Computing and IT. The MBA is also sought after and other postgraduate students are on courses leading to qualifications in Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management, and Business Information Technology.

We also have an University Alumni Association. The Kenyan chapter of the Alumni Association meets at the Regional Office every month and would welcome participation of new members.

Entry requirements

Undergraduate applicants

Applicants with KCSE will need a grade of B+ and above for direct entry into an undergraduate programme. Those with less than this must undertake an Access course or can study on our International Foundation Programme before they can commence a degree programme.

Applicants must also satisfy our standard English Language Requirements.

Applicants who have completed various stages of their studies from the following organizations are also accepted:

  • ACCA
  • APTECH
  • Association of Computer Professionals (ACP)
  • Association of Business Executives (ABE)
  • BTEC
  • CIM
  • IMIS
  • Informatics
  • Intel Computers Nairobi
  • National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT)
  • NCC
  • Pre-University course or International Foundation course (accepted from local universities)

Postgraduate applicants

A lower-second class degree from a recognized university is a minimum requirement.

Work experience following an undergraduate degree is not a mandatory requirement. However, relevant work experience will be taken into account where a change from subjects at undergraduate level to postgraduate level is necessary. For further information contact the Kenya Office.

For the  MBA programme , all candidates must satisfy stringent criteria, which includes, a minimum lower second class degree from a recognized university, a minimum of three years of work experience at middle-management after undergraduate study and demonstration of an ability to able to undertake the demanding programme.

Credit for prior study is not normally given for postgraduate study.

Visa Information

The UK visa is issued at the discretion of the British High Commission (BHC) based in Kenya for applicants of this region. For applicants who are not Kenyan, their visas are issued by the commissions in their respective countries. However, the Kenya office offers free visa counseling to all applicants to fully prepare them for the visa application process and thus increase their chances of acquiring a student visa to UK. Staff have been fully trained on the newly introduced Point Based System (Tier 4).
