With established parterships throughout the United States, Middlesex University has been welcoming American students to London for many years.  American students will find Middlesex University both familiar and challenging. Based in Boston, the Americas and Caribbean Regional Office for Middlesex University is your resource for all questions regarding Middlesex University.

For students interested in the short-term study abroad option, our US compatible semester dates, flexible curriculum semester system and fully transferable credits make studying abroad at Middlesex an easy and appealing option for North American students. Middlesex offers a wide range of subjects and student support services for both Semester, Summer School and full degree students. We also have a well-established internship programme, which is available throughout the academic year.

Entry requirements

Undergraduate Applicants

Students from the US applying for an undergraduate degree will need to have completed one of the following:

  • A High School diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.2 and SAT scores of 550 on each part or ACT composite score of 23
  • A High School diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.2 and scores of 3+ on at least two advanced placement exams
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma and SAT scores of 550 on each part or ACT composite score of 23
  • Satisfactorily completion of one year of college/university level study with minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Professional Diploma from a technical school (2 years post-secondary in a specialized field of study)

*Students who have completed the two year Associate degree may be eligible for advanced standing onto the second year of an undergraduate degree programme.

Postgraduate Applicants

For general admission into most postgraduate programs applicants will need to have completed a Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college with a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher. To find out about entry requirements for a specific program, please check our website or contact the North America and Caribbean Regional Office.  If you are interested in a research degree, or are interested in applying to a degree field that does not allow online applications please contact the North America and Caribbean Regional Office for the postgraduate application form.

Scholarships

The North America and Caribbean Regional Office awards up to £2,000 in scholarships annually. The scholarship awards are for full undergraduate or postgraduate degree programmes. Students are only eligible to receive one scholarship award.   Contact the regional office for detailed information.

Additionally, Middlesex University is eligible to certify loan applications for the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP).  The Federal Stafford loan is an educational loan borrowed from a private lender, with interest rates and other terms set by the US Federal government.  US citizens or eligible residents who qualify for US Federal Title IV or other US financial aid programs may be eligible to use their financial aid for studying at Middlesex University. Students must meet all applicable eligibility requirements in order to participate.
