Overview & facilities

The EdD is intended for professionals in education and education-related areas who are keen to grow their experience and develop further their skills of reflective practice, research skills and evaluation. It is valuable for academics, university and college staff, school teachers and members of government bodies and other organizations with an education focus. The EdD is an intensive programme with a continuous research element that prepares students for thesis, examination and exhibition of work.

The programme is flexible and avoids a ‘one size fits all’ model. Among other areas we specialise in leadership in education, e-learning and technology, and teaching and leadership. We also take into account the work experience of our applicants and it is one of the major factors in determining a suitable candidate. In fact if you think of yourself as a specialist in a subject based on your experience then make sure you talk to us.

Please note that the EdD is at the same level as a PhD with a focus on practice and field based problems.

When you join the programme, you will be joining a reflexive community of practice that is engaged in research for the purpose of impact, and will sare and exchange findings with other researchers.
