What will you study on the MA Advanced Professional Practice in Social Work (Practice Education)?

The Postgraduate Diploma is made up of 120 credits and the MA award is made up of 180 credits. For both awards, you will study 60 credits from the following module options:

  • Critical Thinking and Analysis (30 credits)
  • Relationship Based Practice: Advanced Intervention Skills (30 credits)
  • Professional Supervision for Public and Community Services (30 credits)
  • Service Development and Quality Improvement (15 credits)
  • Leadership for Public and Community Services (15 credits)

As well as complete the following pathway-specific modules:

  • Enabling Others (15 credits)
  • Practice Education and Assessment (30 credits)

Students who exit the programme at this point will be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma Advanced Professional Practice in Social Work (Practice Education). Only those wishing to study the complete Masters programme will take the Developing New Research Capability (60 credits) module.

Students who exit the programme at this point will be awarded an MA Advanced Professional Practice in Social Work (Practice Education).
