Postgraduate study for current Middlesex students

Continuing your studies at Middlesex after graduating is an excellent opportunity to develop your career and achieve your goals. During your postgraduate studies with us you will develop a range of personal, professional and financial advantages which can help you unlock your potential.

Why continue to postgraduate study?

  • A postgraduate degree helps improve your career prospects. There’s a lot of competition for jobs out there. A postgraduate qualification not only demonstrates your intellectual prowess, but shows your dedication, commitment and time management skills; all of which are essential qualities in the work place.
  • A large number of our postgraduate programmes include a work placement option, giving you the opportunity to gain vocational experience, make valuable contacts and learn transferable skills. We have an extensive network of top employers interested in student placements, while our Careers Service can provide you with advice and support.
  • If you enjoy your undergraduate course, a postgraduate course gives you the opportunity to continue your studies in the subjects you enjoy and excel in. Many of our undergraduate courses have a postgraduate equivalent, as well as specialist options.
  • If you want to challenge yourself, postgraduate study gives you more responsibility as a student in terms of planning your learning and your time. The challenge of studying at postgraduate level will develop your skills and overall confidence.
  • Many of our postgraduate courses are certified by external bodies, meaning you can gain a professional qualification which, for some employers, is an essential requirement for employment.

Up to 20% reduction on fees

All Middlesex undergraduates who progress to postgraduate study with us in 2012 will receive the Middlesex Alumni Bursary which gives you up to 20% reduction on your postgraduate tuition fees. Read more about the Middlesex Alumni Bursary.

Flexible learning

We offer a wide range of postgraduate courses that can be studied full-time, part-time, remotely by distance learning or in the workplace through Work Based Learning. These modes of study are all highly flexible giving you the freedom to easily change between them and study in the way that benefits you most.

Funding your postgraduate study

Unlike undergraduates who can apply for means tested grants and student loans, there are relatively few funding options for postgraduate study. However, we believe that all students deserve the opportunity to succeed, irrespective of their financial situation.

We offer an extensive range of scholarships specifically for postgraduate students spanning different experiences and subject areas, including Arts and Humanities Research Council Masters Studentships and the David Caminer Postgraduate Scholarship in Business Computing (supported by the LEO Foundation and AIT Trust).
