Employment-Based Routes to Initial Teacher Training with Middlesex University
Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP)
Middlesex University is the lead partner for the London North Consortium (LoNoCo), which is the organisation that manages Employment Based Routes to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), including GTP. This programme is suitable for graduates who are working in schools and who have the support of their headteacher to take this route to QTS. Full details of how programmes operate, as well as on-line registration is available at the LoNoCo website: www.Lonoco.ac.uk
Overseas Trained Teacher Programme (OTTP)
Overseas Trained Teachers who are working in state schools are required to gain QTS within four years of starting teaching in this country. Full details of how to apply, on-line registration and how the programmes work are available at www.Lonoco.ac.uk
Registered Teacher Programme (RTP)
Middlesex University no longer provides the degree route for the RTP. Eligible candidates – those who hold qualifications equivalent to two years higher education - 240 CATS points – may want to consider the Learning and Teaching BA.
