Why study PGCert Evidence Based Parenting Programmes Supervision Theory at Middlesex University?
The PG Cert in Evidence Based Parenting (EBPP) - Supervision Theory provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to supervise individuals delivering EBPPs. This programme, the first of its kind, has emerged from our expertise in EBPPs in partnership with Save the Children. Middlesex University currently holds the UK licence to train and deliver FAST (Families and Schools Together), a EBPP.
The PG Cert comprises two modules:
(1) Exploring Evidence Based Parenting Programmes
(2) Professional supervision for public and community services
As a student of this course you'll receive a free electronic textbook for every module.
The modules give students the opportunity to acquire mastery of the knowledge and skills required for a supervisor of a evidence based parenting programme. The three modules are interconnected and build incrementally. Aimed at practitioners who have experience of working with children and families and experience of supervising others in such a setting, this new Award will provide an overarching curricula on the 'generic' supervision/leadership' theories, practices, and approaches embedded and associated with the successful delivery of EBPPs. Students will be offered the opportunity of applying this knowledge within a 'specific EBPP' programme e.g. FAST, Triple P, Strengthening Families 10-14, as part of the course.
It is anticipated that students undertaking this Award would seek to undertake the 'practice/intern component' within their preferred EBPP. To this end, applicants to the programme would need to secure agreement with the EBPP as part of their application process.
