Explore our scholarships, bursaries and alumni awards

We don’t want financial concerns to hold you back from university – we have a range of scholarships, awards and bursaries to help support your studies. Unlike loans, you don't need to pay them back.

We award them for different reasons based on your personal circumstances and achievements. You can use the money to reduce your tuition fees or to assist with expenses.

  • You can apply for more than one scholarship
  • You can only receive one scholarship at one time so if you have been awarded more than one, you will automatically be awarded the one of highest value
  • The decision of the Scholarships Committee about awards is final.

Depending on your family's income, you might also be entitled to more support from the government through loans and grants. See our information on undergraduate finance and postgraduate finance.

Laptop Loan Scheme

We understand not everyone will have access to a personal laptop, but we’re determined to make sure this doesn’t hinder your learning. Laptops are accessible to all via our laptop loan scheme. During the pandemic, we purchased an extra 1000 additional laptops, meaning access is better than ever before.

MDX is the only UK university to provide all students with free personal learning materials to assist with their studies

  • The majority of students will receive the core book from their reading list for free as a personal e-book.
  • Students who require the Adobe Creative Suite for their course will receive access for free, meaning you’re able to access industry standard software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and much more.
  • All printing for your course is free (but we strive to be as green as possible by working digitally)
