This course provides an introduction to working in schools and applying for teacher training posts. It is aimed at those who want to find out more about schools and working in schools. The course is relevant for those who want to improve their chances of getting a job in schools.
The course will be made up of four two hour taught sessions at our Hendon campus plus two
days of observation in local schools. You will gain an excellent initial school experience and the basic knowledge and skills which will enhance any application you may make to an Initial Teacher Training course or post in a school. However, this does not guarantee that you will be successful in any applications you may make.

|Session two||Wednesday 8 February||Introduction to teaching: Behaviour management and planning good lessons. You will be prepped for School Experience and mini lesson task|
|Session three||Wednesday 22 February||School Experience: You will spend a day in a mainstream school|
|Session four||Wednesday 1 March||School Experience: You will spend a day in a contrasting school or special school|
|Session five||Wednesday 8 March||Gaining experience of teaching: Reflection on school experience and presentation of mini lessons and feedback|
|Session six||Wednesday 15 March||Towards a career in teaching: Applications and personal statements|
