Delegating Effectively

Learning the art of delegation will empower you at every stage of your career. This invaluable one-day course will help you better understand when, to whom and how to delegate. You'll explore the barriers to effective delegation and the benefits from delegating more, ultimately increasing your confidence and enhancing productivity in your organisation.

This intensive course covers:

  • Definitions of authority and power, responsibility and accountability
  • Concepts of delegation and empowerment
  • Process of delegation including barriers and support mechanisms
  • Techniques to monitor outcomes of delegation, and feedback, recognition and reward techniques

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session, you'll be able to:

  • Define and apply the concept of delegation
  • Understand the importance of delegation
  • Determine criteria for deciding what should and shouldn't be delegated
  • Identify and apply the skills involved in implementing delegation
  • Recognise the difference between delegation and abdication
