You can also watch the Pre-sessional team explain more about the course and recent students share their experiences, in our film on Youtube, Youku or Vimeo.
If a CAS is needed then this will be processed about a week after payment or sponsor letter has been received by us. Some students may be subject to an interview by the visa & immigration advisor at Middlesex University before a CAS can be issued.
Middlesex University takes its Tier 4 Licence responsibilities extremely seriously and continuously reviews its policies and processes to ensure that University operations are in compliance with Home Office requirements.
Some countries have recently been experiencing higher rates of unsuccessful visa applications. As a result, we are not accepting students from the following countries: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Nepal or Sri Lanka.
Our pre-sessional English courses are normally for students who don’t meet the minimum English language requirements for degree-level study at a UK university. The courses are also suitable for EU and international students who have a good knowledge of English but wish to develop their confidence in actively using the language in an academic context.
You must have a minimum of IELTS 4.0 (with no less than 4.0 in any skill) for entry onto a pre-sessional course. The IELTS must be UKVI-approved.
If you have a higher score you may be able to do a shorter course, see the table below.
We do sometimes accept other English language qualifications besides IELTS. To find out if yours is acceptable, please email us.
Your English language qualification must be taken within two years of the start date of your course, and you will need to supply us with proof of your qualification.
If you have not taken an English test in the last two years, please visit the IELTS website or contact us to find a testing centre in your country.
