    Time Management

    Time management is an essential business skill – and there are various techniques you can use to greatly improve your productivity. Our workshop will give you a thorough understanding of these crucial time management principles, allowing you to work at maximum effectiveness both in your current role and in the future.

    Course information

    This one-day course covers key topics:

    • Definition of time management
    • Consequences of poor time management
    • The difference between urgent and important
    • SMART objectives
    • Use of to-do lists, diaries and time logs
    • Setting personal goals

    Learning outcomes

    By the end of the session, you'll be able to:

    • Make better decisions about the use of your time
    • Apply the principles of time management to your working life
    • Clarify your goals or aims
    • Prioritise goals and tasks, differentiating between important and urgent
    • Use a systematic approach to planning: to-do lists, organisers, etc
    • Improve your skills at taking control of interruptions

    This course is part of the Institute for Work-Based Learning (IWBL) Management Series and other workshops include:

    Completion of four of the workshops in this series and a Work-Based Learning Report leads to a Middlesex University Certificate in Personal and Professional Development NQF Level 4.
