Course overview:
This module will introduce you to the decision making processes and institutions of the EU and the key political developments across the whole of Europe. This module facilitates an empirical and theoretical understanding of the political dynamics of regional integration, European identity and transitions at work in a wider European context. The topics we will be discussing include democratic deficit, immigration, challenges to European identity and the enlargement of the EU. This course offers an optional three day field trip to Brussels to visit the European Commission and European Parliament. It also includes a guided visit to the International Maritime Organisation and National War Museum in London.
