Course overview:
The module covers an introduction to sports massage in light of the role of sports massage in athletic health care. Professional/ethical issues, theoretical and practical knowledge as it relates to sports massage as a part of the holistic management of athletes is covered. This module provides the fundamentals for sports massage.

Pre-requisites:
Some knowledge of Anatomy.
MU students only: Can be taken by students who failed SES1200 Applied Anatomy & Biomechanics. Or SES1211 Applied Anatomy and Physiology. Students who have failed SES1200 and SES1211 would need to take both SES1215 and SES1220. Students on either the BSc Sport & Exercise Science (pathways included) or FDSc Health & Fitness, if successful in achieving SES1215 and SES1220 in summer school, will be able to replace failure of SES1200 or SES1211 with these 30 summer school credits. Students on the BSc Sports Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention cannot use SES1215 Applied Anatomy and SES1220 Sports Massage to replace SES1200
