This highly topical course provides an interesting introduction to the political institutions and policy making of the European Union (EU).
The course shows how and why the EU has developed from 1950s to the present day. Covering a range of topics from the Union's early history and the ongoing interplay between 'eurosceptics' and federalists, to the single market, the Euro, and the refugee and migration crisis, this course aims to examine the successes and failures of the EU, and explain the choices that lie ahead in the 21st century.
