Tailored towards ambitious students who are keen to apply theory to practice in a business environment, this course equips you with both a broad understanding of how organisations work, acquire and use resources, and meet the needs of their customers. Supply chain management is an essential function within business operations and you will build expert knowledge in the planning and organisation of the sourcing, procurement, conversion and logistics of from manufacturers and suppliers, through to customers

Our one-year Business Management (Supply Chain) top-up course is for students who already hold a business foundation or HND qualification, and are based in either the UK or overseas. It prepares you to enter a diverse range of businesses, governmental and third sector organisations.

    • Applied Management (30 credits) - Compulsory

      This module aims to present a view of management applied in an ever more competitive environment in which firms need to excel in the areas cost, quality, speed, innovation, service and sustainability. The module uses the four traditional management functions of planning, organising, leading, and controlling to examine how firms develop strategic value, build a dynamic organisation, mobilise people, learn and change.

    • Procurement and Sourcing (30 credits) - Compulsory

      This module aims to present the interrelationships of purchasing with the rest of the functional and system areas of the organisation, with particular emphasis on the interface with marketing, logistics, supply chain management, and operations management. The module introduces the purchasing function as an integral part of the transformation of raw materials and component parts into finished goods by utilising materials, systems, information, and people in order to become strategic weapon in today's global market.

    • Strategic Management (30 credits) - Compulsory

      This module aims to present a broad and integrated view of strategic management in organisations, and to outline and offer a range of critical perspectives on key concepts of strategy. It will introduce generic strategies at the corporate, business and functional levels, and provide a range of analytical models and concepts that can be applied in assessing the strategic capability of an organisation and the environment in which it operates.

    • Global Supply Chain Management (30 credits) - Compulsory

      This module aims to develop your understanding on the integration of different business in creating value. It will demonstrate the effects of planning in multiple organisations and give you the experience on managing integrated business processes and developing a process understanding. It will present a integration of functional departments within and between different organisation.
