Criminology

CRIM_cluster

Criminology at Middlesex has a very strong tradition. We were one of the first universities in the UK to have a criminology department, and a very influential strain of criminological theory - 'left realism' - originated here.

The department is characterised by an excellent research profile, through the active Crime and Conflict Research Centre, and by our strong industry links. Many of our academics are ex-practitioners, meaning we have connections with many criminal justice organisations, such as the Metropolitan Police and Islington Youth Offending Team.
