National Scholarship Programme

The National Scholarship Programme (NSP) is a new £150m government programme which will directly benefit students entering Higher Education from autumn 2012. The NSP will offer students from lower income families additional financial support. More information on our undergraduate fees for 2012 can be found here.

The National Scholarship Programme at Middlesex University

There are a total of 1,095 new scholarships available for students starting undergraduate courses in autumn 2012. There will be two types of scholarship available.

Through our obligations under the National Scholarship programme, we will be offering 420 scholarships worth £3000 for the first year of study. This will be awarded as follows:

  • £2,000 in the form of a fee waiver
  • £1,000 delivered as a cash award
  • A pro-rata amount will be delivered to part-time students

As we are keen to offer the maximum number of our students support in 2012, Middlesex University will also be offering an additional 675 scholarships worth £1,000 to first year students. This will be awarded in the form of a fee waiver, with a pro-rata amount delivered to part-time students.

Eligibility for both of these scholarships will be decided using a points based system. There are a range of criteria, each carrying a points value.

The number of points you have will depend on how many of the different eligibility criteria you meet. Your points total will determine whether you are eligible to receive an award, as well as its value. This is to ensure that scholarships are targeted to students who need it the most.
