The Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme, or TASS as it is better known, is a government funded programme that is at the forefront of the development of Britain's sporting stars of the future. TASS is the scheme supported by the Government Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) which offers up to £3500 worth of support per annum for talented athletes.

Those awarded a TASS 2012 Scholarship will receive sporting services up to the value of £10,000. A TASS scholarship is made annually for the period 1 October to 30 September.

TASS provides athletes with a tailored package of services such as coaching, strength and conditioning, talented athlete lifestyle support, physiotherapy, sports medicine, as well as support with competition and training expenses. TASS athletes also have access to good quality training facilities.

HOW TO APPLY

TASS Scholars are nominated by their governing body and receive funding to support high level coaching, sports medicine and sport science support, and some travel and equipment expenses. The University organises and provides many of the support services, and provides mentoring and lifestyle advice to students.
